You may already know that I’m training to run the Jerusalem Half Marathon 2026 this March. Running a marathon is a personal challenge, but I’m not in this just for the glory. I’m running for something important. I am running to raise money for Chaiyanu/Chai Lifeline Israel, a wonderful organization dedicated to helping very sick children and their families. Last year I had the opportunity to spend Shabbat in Jerusalem with Camp Simcha campers and their families. I saw first hand the impact Camp Simcha has not only on the campers but their families too. Kids who have endured challenges no kid should have to think about were singing and laughing all weekend, and their parents were able to just sit and relax knowing their kids were being taken care of and getting to just be kids for a little. I am running this March to help but a smile on these kids faces and give them a few moments of just being a kid!
