This past summer I had the privilege of running the ropes course activity in Camp Simcha. I was able to interact with all of the Chaiyanu campers on the job and realized that they were some of the most lively and positive kids in camp. They were witty, outgoing and sang shabbos zmiros louder than all the other divisions, inviting everyone else to sing with them. Chaiyanu is a wonderful organization that provides year–round emotional, social, and financial support to more than 400 children and their families every year. Chaiyanu’s programs and activities change their lives forever, returning joy and hope and enabling them to live full and happy lives despite the presence of illness.
While I worked on the ropes course, I assisted children and teens who spend most of their year in and out of hospitals reach the top of the rock wall or soar down the zip line. Chaiyanu gives kids the opportunity to achieve goals they never could have dreamed of and after helping them reach their goals, I’m asking you to help me reach mine.
