Wow, it’s my 5-year anniversary at Camp Simcha! I am privileged year after year to be a Respiratory Therapist in Camp Simcha Special. It is a truly an amazing and humbling experience.
Chaiyanu/Chai Lifeline Israel is an incredible organization that provides year–round emotional, social, and financial support to more than 400 children and their families every year. Chaiyanu´s programs and resources are a lifeline for children and their families as they face debilitating illness. How much more so in these frightening times of war in Israel…, which adds more burden to these children who are already suffering so much. Chai Lifeline gives these kids a chance to regain their strength and happiness. It’s a community of love, unity, and joy.
The most popular programs are Camp Simcha and its sister, the Hope Tour. Every year, these two programs give kids a chance to forget about their illnesses and to just be free and happy. These children get to experience what it means to be a kid.
Camp Simcha is a place of magic, where dreams come true. Kids who are physically and/or medically “limited” are able to experience the most fun activities in a medically-safe environment. Rock climbing, ziplining, speedboating, helicopter rides, motorcycle rides, etc. Simcha has no limits.
The Hope Tour is a magical two week trip to South Africa. It is action-packed and meaningful - a trip of adventure and connection. It gives the children strength and hope to keep going and to stay strong and happy.
Marathon training is not easy, but neither is dealing with illness. If the children of Chaiyanu can fight each day, if they can push themselves to go through hospital stays and treatment, I can push myself to take the extra steps for them.
I can't do this without your support. I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids.
